problems with insomnia can arise due to a lot of reasons, it can include depression, anxiety, colds, and by what you take in. your daily routine can also impair your sleep. if you want to overcome your insomnia, the best thing that you can do for yourself is to do the following tips:
1. Establish a bedtime routine that works for you and stick with it. Your body and mind need to have consistency at this time so that you can learn to fall asleep naturally.
2. Relax your mind and do not worry while in bed. Before bedtime, make a list of the things on your mind and how you plan to deal with them. Then forget about them.
3. Establish a regular sleep schedule; dim the lights, take a bath, have a warm glass of milk and Wake up each morning at the same time and try not to oversleep. Sleeping longer in the morning will only make you feel groggy and disoriented.
4. Keep the bedroom just for sleep. People suffering from insomnia should avoid distractions, like watching television, telephone calls, late-night snacking and avoid working in bed. Leave everything for the next day.
5. Avoid tea, coffee, chocolate and anything containing caffeine before bedtime. Also, avoid alcohol and tobacco for these stimulants will keep you awake during the night.
6. Don’t nap during the day. If you allow yourself to sleep during the day, even if it just for a few minutes, you will confuse your body’s ability to differentiate between day and night sleeping.
7. Wear earplugs if noise wakes you easily
8. Make sure your bed and pillow are really comfortable, and wear bedclothes for the season: if you are too hot or too cold, you won’t relax properly.
9. If insomnia persist, immediately consult a doctor.
