I have always had Insomnia. Last night my body was tired ,but, my brain would not shut down. It composed a poem that scared me wide awake. My first poem.

Go to sleep my little ugly
Eyelids close on thoughts of dread
Pounding heartbeat muffles whispers
Shadows gather round your bed
Gently drift on waves of slumber
Sinking deeper,deeper still
You will not feel the drowning

Anita, I thought this up at 12:30 this morning. I thought about saying”Go to sleep my little Kitty”,but, then my thoughts wandered.. I like your version much better. I didn’t mean to scare anyone…maybe spook them a little:) Bad,bad Kitty…
